oops, this is my 7th post. I guess i can't count. :P

My grandfather is very family oriented. He loves a good home cooked meal with the family. Since he is Italian, I thought it would be appropriate to put some spaghetti on here. He loves it, and my mother even makes the homemade sauce.

7th journal entryyyyy

My grandfather has a passion for his country. He was in World War II but didn't actually make it over there. He did stay in the States and what not though. He watches the news everyday, and sees all the soldiers who's lives have been taken from them. He can't stand to see people lose their lives for nonsense.

Fifth journal entry

Another thing about my grandfather was that he was Transportation Supervisor for a school bus company. Not only did he drive the buses, but he got up early during snow\ice storms to check the roads to see if school should be closed, did background checks on the new bus drivers, and took kids home who missed their bus, or didn't have a ride home. He is well known around town, for not only this, but for being a judge also. He is a kind man, and is very respected.

Fourth Entry

So, my grandfather was a judge for our little town. He never had to handle big cases, it was more along the lines of tickets, drug charges, and what not. I always admired that about him. He had to the courage to deal with criminals. Their future were in their hands sometimes, when it came down to the decision whether or not they were going to be put in jail. I remember being little, and sitting on the stairs of my grandfathers basement, while he had to meet with the cops and a suspect. He must have been determining whether or not this person should be put in jail or not. It was always kind of frightening, because there was a criminal in his house, and they new where he lived. That scared me a bit. But, to have the courage to stand up to criminals, and have to make decisions whether or not this person was guilty or not? That is amazing, I think. ANOTHER reason why this man is amazing, strong and determined.

Third Entry

So, I know I haven’t been posting much on here lately. But, to be completely honest, I’m not sure what I should actually be writing on here.  I want to write things that will be useful for my paper, but I’m not finding anything. Maybe I just need to look harder. Anyway, here is my third post.
My grandfather means the world to me. Words cannot describe how much I love this man. He is my role model, because is incredibly strong and determined.  When things get tough, he keeps on going. The movie The Notebook based on the book by Nicholas Sparks is pretty much the story of my grandparents.  I can’t watch that movie, without thinking about my grandfather, and how is exactly like the man in the movie. He doesn’t give up when his wife doesn’t remember him. He is determined to stick by her side forever.

Second Entry!

I hope this works!
This one of my grandfather's favorite songs. I can remember him taking me to school, and listening to this song in the car. My grandfather means the world to me.We have a very close relationship. When I was growing up he was ALWAYS there for me. The closeness of our family means everything to him. He came from a family with 11 brothers and sisters. He is used to being in a large family, and spending time with everyone.

First Entry! :)

Okay, so I'm excited to start using this blog. It is a really creative way to show everyone my thought process for this research paper\presentation! Here is my first post, and I hope everyone likes it, and gives me feedback!

I am doing my research on the relationships between grandparents and their grandchildren. Some kids have different outlooks on this. I am going to explore these relationships, both negative and positives. I personally have a positive relationship with my grandfather. I honestly don't know what I would do with out this incredible man. He has been through everything with me, the good and the bad. He is an amazing person, and very strong and determined. Quite a few years ago now, my grandmother, his wife, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Even though she is basically a "vegetable"  and doesn't even know how to feed herself anymore, let alone know my grandfather, he still goes to the nursing home everyday to make sure that he sees her. This shows that he is strong, and determined that maybe someday she might snap out of this state and realize that her husband of 54 years is still here, and cares about her. Although, we all know this isn't going to happen, he is still determined, and will NOT give up on this.

This is a picture of my grandfather and I on my senior prom day. :)

I am also determined to succeed with my future here at Saint Rose. I couldn't find a picture on graduation day, but prom was a few weeks before. So, i figured why not put this up. :)
